He added the first charity programme was carried out to give aid to the community. The association managed to collect RM5,000.00 to be contributed to KD SRI GOMBAK.
“Previously, we have organised Charity Dinner and Charity Golf games for our charity bureau and donation to Lumut Community-Based Rehabilitation or CBR, home to hundreds of disabled children where special programme, endorsed by department of social welfare, was performed. Similar programme was introduced and spearheaded by the World Health Organization (WHO),” he ended after presenting a mock cheque to KD SRI GOMBAK representative.
Also taking part in the golf competition are Deputy President, RAdm Dato’ Gunaselan Salamuthu (Ret) and 120 individuals from the association and corporate agencies.
Dato’ Gunaselan stated this kind of activity reflects active involvement of the association. He also urges retired navies to enrol for membership which fee has been reduced from RM100 to RM25. This fee revision is to lessen the burden of its existing two thousand members and to consolidate the association by strong bonding of many new members.
“We also wish to thank the organisations and agencies for their donations including Affin Bank, HH Tech Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd, Daidomon Japanese BBQ Restaurant Sdn Bhd among others,” he added.
